May 這個助動詞常見的意思是「可能，也許」，而 might 則是它的過去式。
但其實在現代英文中，若要表示「現在或未來有可能會發生的情況」，兩者皆可使用。
這種情形下，語意上唯一的小小差異是 may 所表達的可能性比 might 還要高一點。

要注意的是，may 也能用來表達「禮貌表達許可與否」，所以如果要表示「現在或未來可能不會發生的情況」，就要使用 might not，而不是 may not，否則會讓聆聽者不知道到底是要表達「不允許」還是「可能不會」。

舉例來說，You may not go to the store 有可能是「你不能去商店」或是「你可能不會去商店」，但You might not go to the store 只有一種意思：「你可能不會去商店」。所以當要表達可能不會發生的事情時，要用 might not 才不會造成誤解喔！

例句
I may grab some snacks and drinks on my way.

我路上可能會買些零食飲料。

There may be a delay in the delivery on weekends.

週末時運送可能會延遲。

I might be wrong, but don't you think watching TV is a total waste of time?

我不一定是對的，不過你不覺得看電視根本是浪費時間嗎？
