The Passive Voice
Certain verbs related to "moods" or "emotions" often appear in the passive voice. Take the sentence "We're fascinated by landslides" from the lesson, "-ed" is added to "fascinate" to express landslides fascinate us, ie, we are obsessed with landslides. Other verbs such as "expose", "dress", "locate", "make of", "dedicate" are also often in the passive voice.

某些跟「情緒、情感」有關的動詞，較常以被動語態的形式出現，例如本課中的 "We're fascinated by landslides" 就是將 "fascinate" 加上 "ed" 表示「山崩令我們著迷」，也就是「我們著迷於山崩」的意思。

諸如 expose、dress、locate、make of、dedicate 等動詞，也時常會以被動方式出現。
