「名詞子句」是指能扮演名詞角色的子句，可以做為主詞、補語、受詞使用，由 that, if, whether, where, when, how 等等開頭，比如影片中講者說 I don't know how to talk to kids.「我不知道怎麼跟小孩講話。」此句 how to talk to kids 為名詞子句，雖然以疑問詞 how 開頭，講者並不是在問問題。

我們來看另一個例子：What it (the company) does is actually put people who are creating shoes right out of business.「這間公司做的其實是讓本地的製鞋商直接失業。」這裡 what it does 也是名詞子句，作為整句主詞。

例句
I know what you did last summer.

我知道你去年夏天做了什麼事。

I'm not sure if she will be home by six.

我不確定她六點前會不會回家。

The teacher wanted us to tell her who broke her vase.

老師要我們告訴她是誰打破花瓶的。
