Twitter exploded at SXSW in 2007, and streaming app Meerkat was a big hit just last year.

The list of interests represented in this section of the festival goes far beyond technology and business, however.

The SXSW Gaming Expo staged a DOTA 2 tournament in 2014 and always offers a Free Play PC Area.

SXsports sessions discuss things like urban outdoor culture and the possibility of robot athletes.

And if visitors are uninterested in these things, comedy , food and programs on helping communities are also available.
