Lies

A common reason people lie is to protect themselves,
and that's why Alice lied.

She didn't want to get in trouble with the teacher.

But she did get in trouble.

The price of lying isn't worth it.

One way or another, the truth will eventually come out.

People also lie to protect someone's feelings.

Let's say a friend makes you a special dinner,
but it tastes awful.

Would you tell them the truth?

Of course , but in a nice way.

The truth might hurt, but it would help my friend to learn and improve.

And in certain professions, lying is part of the job.

Lawyers stretch the truth daily to protect their clients.

That's one reason i'll never be a lawyer.

Just because lying is universally practiced doesn't make it right.

Anyway, are you going to the student meeting tonight?

Those meetings are never interesting.

I think i might be sick.
