不定詞(to+V)的用法
To-infinitive
"To + base form of a verb" forms an infinitive, which is often compared to a gerund. Just like a gerund, an infinitive phrase can function as a noun, adjective, or complement. Generally speaking, verbs that express intention or desire, such as "want," "hope," "need," and "choose," are usually followed by the infinitive "to" plus the base form of a verb (to + V).
「to + 原型動詞」即構成不定詞,常與動名詞做比較。其實就像動名詞一樣,可以將不定詞片語看作「名詞、形容詞、補語」。一般而言,如 want、hope、need、choose 等表示「意圖、欲望」的動詞,習慣上搭配不定詞 to V。
例句
To see is to believe.
眼見為憑。
(此處 to see 與 to believe 都類似名詞,分別為主詞與受詞。)
It was such a great movie to see.
那真是部好看的電影啊。
(to see 不定詞片語作形容詞,用來修飾 movie。)
She thinks herself to be a famous singer.
她認為自己是有名的歌手。
(to be a famous singer 是 herself 的補語。)
