After four years' absence, the new Adele has arrived

The live music video of Adele's When We Were Young shows the true Adele.

Her talent is certainly genuine, but as the video ends, you see something more.

She smiles, shrugs and makes fun of her performance, saying, "It's a whole new me!"

Adele has a lot of to show for only about 10 years in the music business.

She has won 10 Grammys and an Oscar and has achieved record-breaking sales.

Her humble beginnings in poor, working-class tottenham in London make these accomplishments even more remarkable.

Her first record deal came in 2006 and her Best New Artist Grammy in 2009.

Talk about a fast climb.

Interruptions

Adele now recognises success's drawbacks from this period of her life.

"The bigger that your career gets, the smaller your life gets," she recently said.

But things slowed down when her voice required a throat operation in 2011.

After a successful recovery, she then gave birth to her first child, Angelo, in October 2012.
